FACIAL & NECK LAXITY

Thread lift for face & neck

Exploring a thread lift for selected facial or neck laxity, with a discussion of its benefits and limitations.

Plan a consultation

What is a thread lift?

A thread lift uses specially designed threads placed beneath the skin to lift or support selected tissue. It may be considered for some people with mild signs of sagging.

It is a procedure with risks and is not equivalent to a surgical facelift. A consultation should establish what it may and may not achieve for your face or neck.

Who may be considered?

Suitability depends on the amount of skin laxity, tissue quality, health history and expectations. Age alone does not establish whether a thread lift is appropriate.

More substantial sagging may need a different approach. Discuss alternatives, including choosing not to have treatment, and confirm who will perform the procedure.

Planning and performing the procedure

The clinician plans the areas to be treated and discusses anaesthesia and the type of threads. The threads are introduced beneath the skin and positioned to provide support.

Technique, recovery instructions and the need for follow-up vary. Ask about cost, expected duration of benefit and what happens if a thread needs adjustment or removal.

Recovery and possible complications

Bruising, swelling, discomfort and an uneven appearance may occur. Risks can include infection, skin irregularities, visible or palpable threads and thread extrusion.

Results are temporary and cannot be guaranteed. Follow the instructions about activity, facial movement and review, and contact the treating team about unexpected symptoms.

YOUR QUESTIONS

A little more clarity.

Is a thread lift permanent?

No. The lifting effect is temporary, and its duration varies with the procedure and individual factors.

Does it replace a surgical facelift?

No. A thread lift has different aims and limitations. It is not an equivalent alternative for every degree of laxity.

Can complications need further treatment?

Yes. Ask how complications, adjustment or thread removal would be managed before deciding.
